Fiji's Ride Across the Purple Valley [Indiana] for American Red Cross

Founded in 1848, the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta is based upon the values of friendship, knowledge, service, morality, and excellence. These values serve as principles that guide our behavior, decisions, and most importantly, our daily actions. Through service we are bound to the community of which we are a part; it presents unique opportunities to interact and enhance the lives of those that need it most. We serve for the satisfaction of helping others, not for the recognition that often follows.

What is the Ride?

Fiji Chapters in Indiana have never joined forces for a single cause. The Ride Across the Purple Valley is a tremendous opportunity to strengthen the bond of brotherhood and is a means of serving those in need.

The Ride Across the Purple Valley was conceived by Brother Dave Harben of the Beta Sigma Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta. His concept was to unite Indiana Fijis with a common purpose of serving the community for a good cause. The Ride is a collaborative effort between eight outstanding chapters that makes its way around the "Purple Valley" of Indiana. The bike ride of over 570 miles will begin at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, and will travel around the state counterclockwise picking up more brothers at each stop. The Ride will ultimately end in Indianapolis, where a collective check from all participating chapters will be presented to the American Red Cross.
